An important part of the Department's contemporary work (VEGA project 2/0049/20) is devoted to philosophical basis and the context of human rights with regard to overlaps in the field of social and political philosophy (e.g. relations between individual civil catalogues of human rights and social, economic, group, and collective rights, the place of the concept of human dignity in this context, the various forms of human rights violation and abuses, damage to human dignity in liberal capitalism, the issue of autonomy of individual and the lack of Kantian solution, the crisis of legitimacy of democracy with regard to the idea of human rights, global justice, etc.
