Duration

01.01.2019 to 31.12.2021

Project description

Under what conditions can it be said that agents carry out joint actions? What is the character of representations used by individual agents operating in the "we mode"? What is the structure and nature of the cognitive mechanisms that make these actions possible?

Recently, several experiments have been carried out to investigate this ability, but scientists have often problems with interpreting the results. There are alternative theories that try to explain them, but there is a problem to decide which one is more appropriate, since each has some advantages and disadvantages.

Clarification of these issues might be of a fundamental importance because that could lead to a better understanding of typically human features such as cultural learning. It could also contribute to the further development of computational models that could lead to a more efficient interaction between humans and robots.
